How to do it…
To earn your Novice Trick Dog title, chose any 15 tricks from the Tricktionary list and take video of your dog doing each trick. Upload the video below. You must earn your Novice title before the other titles.
rules for each title
- Novice Trick Dog: Demonstrate 15 tricks. Tricks do not have to be perfect. Do not physically manipulate the dog into a trick. Treats and toys may be used as a lure, but on no more than 50% of the tricks. Advanced and Expert tricks count as two tricks.
- Intermediate Trick Dog: Demonstrate 12 Intermediate or higher tricks. Treats and toys may be used as a lure, but on no more than 25% of tricks. Advanced and Expert tricks count as two tricks. Pre-requisite is the Novice title.
- Advanced Trick Dog: Demonstrate 5 Advanced or higher tricks. All off-leash. A pointed finger is OK, but no treat or toy lures. You give multiple cues, but may not badger the dog, nor hover over or crowd the dog. Pre-requisite is the Intermediate title.
- Expert Trick Dog: Demonstrate 5 Expert tricks. All off-leash. A pointed finger is OK, but no treat or toy lures. Pre-requisite is the Advanced title.
- Novice Masters: Demonstrate 30 Novice tricks. They must be Novice tricks, and not other levels. Pre-requisite is the Novice title.
- Intermediate Masters: Demonstrate 20 Intermediate tricks. Pre-requisite is the Intermediate title and Novice Masters title.
- Advanced Masters: Demonstrate 10 Advanced tricks. Pre-requisite is the Advanced title and Intermediate Masters title.
- Expert Masters: Demonstrate 10 Expert tricks. Pre-requisite is the Expert title and Advanced Masters title.
