Trick Dog title!

Do More With Your Dog!® is the only official sanctioning and organizing body for the sport of Dog Tricks.

Dog trainers tend to train the hardest when working toward a goal—it keeps them motivated, and focused. A Trick Dog title can motivate you by giving you a goal. The Trick Dog title allows you to earn your title on your own time, in front of a witness.

Teaching tricks establishes a pattern of learning, teaches skills and focus, is a positive method of training, and promotes a bond between canine and human.

Disabled Dogs / Senior Dogs
We encourage disbled dogs to participate in the Trick Dog title program. We will work with you to establish alternate criteria for your disabled or very senior dog. Check out this video of Treasure, a totally blind and deaf dog who earned her Novice Trick Dog title by demonstrating 15 tricks.

Service Dogs
Service Dogs and their handlers may need to alter the trick to work within their unique needs. This is fine.

What Does a Dog Title Mean, Anyway?

A dog title is just a piece of paper. Just a brag. Just a small set of initials at the end of your dog’s name… But those initials serve as a tribute to the dog that bears them. They stand as a testament to the intelligence, soundness, and cooperative nature of the dog. They say that your dog was a good dog; a dog who loved you enough to work at things that please you.

A title is a reflection on your skill as a trainer and a testament to your commitment to your dog. It says that you loved your dog enough to engage her, teach her, and help her achieve a goal. That you believed in your dog, even when nobody else did—even when she did not believe in herself—and that in the end your faith was justified. In a world where dogs are too often neglected and abused, a title says that your dog was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return.

And after the last beat of her heart, the title remains as an enduring memorial: an honor to a deserving friend.
